Welcome.

Thanks for taking part in the moderated session. This page walks you through the first half of the session: the consent and the generative task. The retrospective conversation happens afterwards on the video call with the researcher.

You will build a small interface by typing short prompts to a generative AI tool in your browser. After every generation we ask you a single one-line note about what you were trying to change. The researcher observes over the video call and asks follow-up questions afterwards.

What this study is about. We study how people build interfaces by typing prompts to a generative AI tool, and how they talk about the session afterwards. Your prompts, the generated interfaces, your short one-line notes, the audio of the recall conversation, and timing data are recorded as the data of the study.

What is recorded. Prompts you type in the task, the interface states the tool produces (HTML and screenshots), the one-line notes you provide after each generation, audio and screen share during the recall, and event timestamps.

How it is stored. Data is held under the study's data-management plan at the IT University of Copenhagen. Only the researchers listed on this study (Tommaso Calò, Aske Mottelson) have access to the raw data. Any published material uses anonymous excerpts.

Your rights. Participation is voluntary. You can stop the session at any time. After the session, you can ask for your data to be deleted by contacting tomcal@itu.dk.

Compensation. Compensation is paid by arrangement after the moderated session is complete.

One last reminder

  • Read each brief carefully before you start prompting.
  • After every generation, write one short line about what you were trying to change.
  • Think aloud as much as you find natural; the researcher is listening.
